Ministries of Faith Lutheran Church
Nord Est Haiti Lutheran Mission (NEHLM)
NEHLM is a Lutheran, non-profit organization of Faith Lutheran Church with its headquarters in La Grande, Oregon, and co-sponsored with Lamb of God LCMS, Lake Stevens, Washington. NEHLM supports the ministry efforts of Reverend Daniel Paul, a Haitian-born pastor assigned to the position of Bishop of the Nord Est region of Haiti. The ministries are centered in Ouanaminthe, Haiti, a community of about 80,000 at the border of Haiti and Dominican Republic (DR).
Recent news: April 29, 2024. The country of Haiti is in a difficult politically situation since the assassination in July of 2021. There are efforts to have the Haitian Court System and constitution be followed to allow for an election. Through all of this the ministry continues to proclaim God’s Word, teach children in there two schools, and care for over ninety young people in their two homes.

Koinonia, Lutheran Women's Missionary League
Koinonia is Faith's chapter of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. The word koinonia is taken directly from the Greek and means fellowship or joint participation. As a service arm of the church, the group gathers to do tasks that serve locally and abroad, from sending quilts to Haiti to serving meals at the church. The "mites" we gather regularly (loose change) is sent to our national body and joins others to do millions of dollars of mission work throughout the world--check the link below! We invite all women to join us; there is a project for everyone and joy in working together!
Local and Foreign Mission Projects
Faith Lutheran Church has mission projects in our community on a regular basis. Even calendar years Faith has a local project to help ministries fairly close to La Grande OR. We are looking at a possible “local mission” to Boulder, MT July 2024. On odd calendar years, Faith focuses on foreign mission projects. Our last two trips is 2021 and 2023 to Haiti were shorter and with less participants due to Haiti’s political instability. We are hoping to have a foreign mission to Haiti in 2025.
